2009 Caterham

I always thought this was my keeper Caterham, it is certainly my ultimate Caterham, however plans change and she is very reluctantly for sale.

The car was designed and built by Mick Attree while working in conjunction with Caterham Cars. The car benefited from the development work on the SP300R supercharged Lola project. Along with Owain Davies at CC they built two road cars, an S3 and a CSR. This S3 was Mick’s personal car with the CSR belonging to Owain.

The direct result of these cars was the R600 racecar and then the 620R road car. As with all production variants though they are built to a price and are rarely as good as the original – the same is true here. Since acquiring the car form Mick, Fauldsport have worked on the setup on the car and it is comfortably, if not the fastest Caterham anywhere in the world.

The car had done approximately 800 miles, when we replaced the CC 6 speed with the latest Caterham specific Sadev sequential gearbox. It has now covered a total of 1150 miles.

It is currently set up for circuit work but included is everything to convert to fast road or touring – the engine is completely at home in any situation.

The car started life as a 2009 Academy car, which was then stripped and built as follows.
