1999 Caterham Superlight (No 77) S3 with lots of included extras.

For sale my much loved and looked after rare original Caterham Superlight.

The original Caterham Superlights were designed to take the car to the next level in performance. Taking an already light car and managing to get the weight down to around 470kg (by utilising lots of carbon fibre). The car is was given the top list of options by offering a 6 speed close ratio gearbox, LSD, bigger brakes and much more. The run was limited to 200 cars with each one having a unique numbered plaque.

This particular Caterham has the original 1.6 K series SuperSport engine that was fitted with a factory upgrade at the start of it’s life taking the power from the original spec of 130bhp to 160bhp. With the weight of the car this puts the power to weight ratio of around 340bhp/tonne putting the spec above an R300.

The car has recently been serviced and MOT’d (May) and there is a massive folder of history on the car with lots of receipts and documentation. The car has always been garaged throughout ownership and has been looked after and serviced by a professional motorsport company with no expense spared.

The reason for sale is lack of use and this kind of car needs to be out there on the road being enjoyed.
