2003 Honda

Here we have my 30th anniversary edition EP3 Civic Type R for sale, a limited run of just 300 anniversary editions were produced in 2003, 100 in black, 100 in red, and 100 in silver. Unlike the premier edition models that were produced in 2005/6 the anniversaries had a strict production run, don't mistake this for the premier editions that were produced in the 1000's and were never capped to a certain amount made.

The anniversary editions boast these additions over a standard EP3....

• Full red Recaro bucket seats up front from the JDM EP3

• Full red carpet throughout

• Red trimmed door cards

• Full black rear seat bench (rather than grey and black)

• Momo embossed steering wheel with unique red stitching

• Air conditioning (normally £1000 upgrade)

• Rear privacy glass (Actual tinted glass not film)

It has undergone some subtle but very effective modifications, all parts are of very good quality and it has only been worked on by Homda specialists such as TDI North and Dream Automotive.

Engine

• Dyno tuned and proven print out to 248bhp, 172 lb ft torque

• 9000rpm rev limit, vtec set at 4K full throttle and 5k part throttle

• Hondata Kpro ecu with launch control mapped by TDI North

Interior

• Custom made one off instrument cluster done by myself (now lights up bright white with multiple SMD LEDs rather than dull orange bulbs)

• White LED lit heater controls

• Custom sprayed centre console, door handles, and trims, done by myself in gloss white with red and black pin striping

• Red alcantara shift boot and handbrake boot to match seats

• Oil pressure and oil temp gauges in A pillar pod

• Integra DC5 alloy pedals and footrest

• Alpine IDA-X100 iPod headunit

MOT until 5/3/17, passed with no advisories. (NOT HAD AN ADVISORY SINCE 2008!)

Mileage is on 112k, it's just had major service by Dream Automotive Honda specialists (29/2/16) which included.....

• All important timing chain, replaced with genuine Honda item and tensioner

• Oil leak around timing chain cover repaired

• Valve clearances checked and adjusted

• New auxiliary belt

• Engine oil and filter (Castrol Magnatec + genuine filter)

• Gearbox oil (Genuine Honda MTF3)

• Spark plugs (NGK platinum)

• Fuel filter (Genuine Honda)

• Pollen filter (Genuine Honda)

• Coolant change (Genuine Honda)

• Clutch fluid change

I also had Dream Automotive carry out a fast road geometry set up recently as the tracking seemed out, so this all got corrected and adjusted to suit on 16/3/16.

The car has been very well cared for throughout its life, 3 previous owners with the 2 prior owners both being members of the owners club (as well as myself) with the previous owner owning the car for 7 years. This is my 3rd EP3 and my 14th Honda so it's fair to say I'm a true enthusiast who knows what to look for and how to care for a Honda. The overall condition of the car is very good, although please bare in mind that it is 13 years old so it does have some age related marks on the bodywork such as a couple of very minor car park dinks, slight crease in drivers door where wind caught it, hairline cracks in paint on front bumper under headlight, and the usual stone chips which is to be expected, but these imperfections are minor and hard to spot unless really looking. Aircon needs a re-gas, and only 1 key and alarm fob. I'm just being up front so you know what to expect. Other than that the bodywork comes up beautiful when polished and waxed. No rust to worry about as there is absolutely none on this, rear arches are perfect and I always clean the inside of them out when washing the car to prevent any dirt and muck build up behind the lip.

Interior is immaculate, the red recaros are as good as new (very rare to see!) and the drivers seat has had a tailored cover over it for 7 and a half years now, so it's always kept mint.

Engine bay is super clean and cared for just as much as the rest of the car. It drives perfect as you'd expect from a Honda, pulls very hard all the way through the revs, it sounds incredible with the exhaust system and carbon induction kit. The gearbox is slick and smooth with no crunching in any gears at any revs. Clutch is perfect and bites nicely in the middle of the pedal with no slipping or juddering. The suspension is set up for fast road / track use so it's firm but still forgiving for daily use, although being fully adjustable this is all easy to adjust to personal requirements. Tyres are near new all round and are phenomenal, Yokohama Advan AD08R road legal semi slicks, unbelievable amount of grip on all weather / road conditions!

Full service history with stamped service book and folder of receipts and all previous MOT's. Original Type R leather wallet with all manuals etc present too.
