1999 Lotus

A terrific little car and a great example; put the mileage to one side as it's irrelevant; the car has been rebuilt to a very exacting standard, and with some sensible upgrades that just make the unit fantastic, simply.

The engine was rebuilt using a DVA power head, Trophy 160 pistons, VHPD rods, new oil and water pump, a 160 / 52mm throttle body, hurricane induction and with a 421 sports exhaust manifold and system it absolutely flies! A nice engine, retaining good manners on starting, at idle, and offering flexibility low down and lots of spice at the top end. The package retains the benefit of the close ratio gearbox.

The body was stock Titanium originally, but has been hand prepared and painted in it's separate sections off the car to a very high standard indeed. All factory fittings were replaced including black edgings, correct fixings and graphic detail - along with Armourfend protection to the front clamshell, access panel and mirrors. The paint is stunning actually. A new aluminium radiator and fan was fitted before re-assembly.

The interior too came in for a floor corrosion modification, new Probax seats, a harness bar with LUKE harnesses and a set of road belts, plus a Momo Q/R steering wheel.

The suspension has been fully rebuilt with powder coated wishbones featuring Powerflex poly bushes, uprated rear toe links, and Nitron adjustable damping. The front anti roll bar was also changed for an upgraded item.

Similarly, the brakes were rebuilt, with new braided lines, new EP belled discs and Pagid pads.

A set of Victory MIM alloys have been fitted and these feature Yokohama Advan Neovas with excellent tread depth recorded.

Offered in first rate condition with hard and soft tops, here is a car that has terrific character and has all the hard work and expense done for the next owner already. The car is well specified for fast road, or track work and is a credit to the last two owners - it'll delight the next one too.
