1990 Lotus

January 1990 Lotus Excel SE, with just 3 former keepers, a documented 54,562 miles & amazing history file.

I hunted high and low for a good one of these last year and eventually found this, promptly spent some money on a full ‘C’ service and a steering rack refurb. My intention was to keep this one long term, but we are pushing to buy some property and every penny is needed for our new venture, unfortunately this fabulous Excel is one luxury that has to go.

The car has a massive file of history, dating back to it’s original owner with all but a few MOTs present and a phenomenal catalogue of service records, even light bulbs and minor details are in it! Original owners manual pack with service history is present, along with 3 sets of keys.

Covered a total of 54,562 miles across two clocks, the first expired at 30,912 & replaced by London Lotus Centre on 27/10/1998. I have the clock and this is documented on the file. The new clock is now on 23,650. The extensive history proves these mileages to be correct.

Originally London Lotus Centre’s demonstrator, with their original logo’d interior mats and number plates still fitted!

Purchased by a Keith Robbins on 01/10/1991, who had the car serviced religiously by London Lotus Centre. Keith was a serial Excel owner and both he and this car are featured in the back of the book - Lotus Excel, A Brooklands Road Test Portfolio.

A Stephen Weston purchased the car next, on 14/01/2007, who sold it to me on 01/08/2015.

Noble Motorsport carried out a full ‘C’ service, incl brake fluid, coolant and full belts change, plus refurb of the steering rack and a full Dyno tune up (she’s producing 188.7BHP!).

New headlights fitted and MOT with no advisories on 22/04/2016.

Recent big spend items documented in the file include: new headlining; radiator & clutch (2014).

She’s running superbly, with no spending needed in the near future. The only defect is the power wing mirrors don’t work (very common) and one dashboard bulb is blown.

Serious interest only please, I am in no rush to sell and won’t respond to cheeky offers. This is an enthusiast car awaiting it’s next enthusiast owner.
