2000 Lotus

Plans Motorsport have been a Lotus specialist since 2002, having prepared and raced Lotuses, as well as looking after customers’ road cars. We have lots of experience in maintaining and improving Elises, Exiges and Evoras; having driven and worked on them everyday for over twelve years.

We are selling on behalf of the owner this exceptional S1 Exige. In our opinion, the Exige S1 was the last “real” Lotus: developed from the one-make “Autobytel” cars, this was a Lotus in the true Chapman tradition. A race car that was modified to use on the road, as opposed to a road car that was modified for racing.

This Exige S1 is a two owner, 35,500 mile, completely standard and un-molested example. Finished in laser blue with black sports seats. It is now so rare to find an original car, with so many having been messed about with and turned into track cars.

Since 2007 the car has been in professional storage with us, inside, under a tailored cover, with a battery conditioner connected, and driven every month,. The owner has asked us to carry out a full check over, a cam belt service, with all new fluids (including Mobil 1 engine and gearbox oil, uprated brake fluid, spark plugs, etc) and offer for sale. A new MOT has just been issued.

As expected, the car drives beautifully, and having been being used sporadically in largely dry conditions, it's in fantastic order throughout. Original Exige S1s are hard to find and demand now outstrips supply. So this is a truly rare opportunity.
