Description

2005 Mercedes CLS 500
As a massive car enthusiast I believe it is my responsibility to own a V8 at some point in my life and this car has helped me to fulfil that - I like it so much that I have bought a 1981 Mercedes 500 SEL as I could not be without a V8.
I previously had a TT roadster, which had to go when we had our first child, at the time I managed to convince (well almost) that a 5.0 V8 with over 300BHP was a practical family car, my wife became rather taken by it quite quickly and is now also rather sorry to see it go.
Number 2 child has recently graced us with his presence so I need something estate shaped to help swallow both the children, all their gear and a large slobbery 35k Boxer.
I have had the car just over 2 years having bought it October 2012 and have only had to change a door handle and battery in that time, other than that it has been routine servicing and 1 set of tyres.
The car has just under 92,000 miles on it and a FSH, most of which was with Mercedes MK, I took it to my local independent as I have used them for 17 years and trust them implicitly.
The MOT runs until the very end of August.
The original receipt for the car shows that it cost the original owner £72,000, which includes £12,000 worth of extras.
I looked for about 4 months before selecting this car as I was determined to find one that wasn't black or silver and had the full AMG factory fit bodykit and wheels.
I have had the exhaust resonator removed (available with the car) and this was the best money I have ever spent on a car. There is no extra noise when you are cruising, but when you plant the accelerator it sounds like Thor gargling a selection of his largest hammers as it thunders up the road - it is awesome.
I even found a new way home from owrk which incorporates an underpass :-)
The car was already fitted with a later model front grille which is a nice subtle but effective improvement (the original is available with the car)
The suspension has been lowered by Mercedes via the Star computer system and this makes it sit beautifully - it raises and lowers as it should and makes this a wonderful way to consume 300 miles with ease - there was a new compressor fitted in 2010 for which I have paperwork.
Keyless entry - This is fantastic and so useful, you can also lock the car by pressing the button on any of the doors.
Keyless Stop/Go - This is operated by a button on top of the gearknob - it is a bit intermittent at the moment so needs looking at.
Adaptive Radar Guided Cruise Control - this is great for motorway use in particular and a useful safety back up feature.
Blue tint on the windows, probably the cheapest option on the car at £90 - very subtle.
Extended Black Leather.
Tilt and slide sunroof.
3 programmable buttons for garage doors/gates.
4 zone climate control - blows nice and cold.
Dynamic Electric Front Seats - these have adjustable electric bolsters and lumbar support and are heated AND cooled
Heated rear seats
Additional airbags in the back.
Remote Boot Unlock - this is awesome if you are laden down with shopping - there are two buttons, one for just closing the boot and the other closes and lock the whole car.
Rear headrests that drop at the touch of a button - great for improving rear visibility but better used for scaring rear passengers as they go down with a thump.
Front and rear parking sensors
Comand Voice Control system which is teachable
DVD player which is great for keeping the kids quiet whilst waiting for Mum to get out of the shops :-)
Bluetooth prep kit.
Sat Nav
Harman Kardon upgrade stereo - this is amazing
6 CD changer and IPOD connectivity - IPOD included for the right price
Electric rear blind
Matching Falken tyres all around all with decent tread.
Rare Mystic Blue colour (I saw no others available when I was looking ) - expensive option
I have thoroughly enjoyed my ownership of this car, I will be very sorry to see it go.
I have probably missed off some of the options as there are just so many, so feel free to call with any questions.
I have included my personal number and not used Phonesafe so you don't get hit with the costs associated with it. I do work Monday - Friday so please leave a message if I can't answer your call and I will get straight back to you.
Any texts or emails incorporating words/phrases along the lines of "Whatz ur best price bludd" will be ignored.
I am available for viewings at the weekend and can do weekday evenings by arrangement.
Thanks for looking
Charlie
