Description
We're a two car family, by necessity. My wife's car has died, having already cost us rather a lot of money recently. She is no longer comfortable driving a manual car. Due to this and other reasons I will not go into here, the ZT has to go, so that we can replace her car.
I am gutted, as I've wanted one of these for years.
In the circumstances, I will consider swap/part exchange with an automatic, family sized car (e.g. Rover 75 Connoisseur, MG ZT 180, or other makes/models).
The details
MG ZT+ 190
Anthracite black
Year of reg: 2002 (52)
Mileage: 94,800
Tax: End of November
MOT: November 30th 2014 (no advisories) - oil was changed just before the MOT (bill to show)
Previous owners: 4 (the gentleman I bought it from was the 4th)
Xenon headlights
6 disc multichanger (fitted to glove compartment)
Bodywork is in very good order - no dents, no major scratches, no rust I can see
Interior is also very good - the only item of note being slight wear to the driver's seat bolster
Has 3 keys - the extra due to the boot lock having been replaced
Significant recent history:
12/09/13: Starter motor (£246.00)
19/06/13: New clutch, gearbox oil, brake discs/pads/shoes (total bill £940.90)
13/08/13: Diagnostic check, injector, lower suspension arm (total bill £493.20)
08/11/10: New inlet manifold, rear coil spring x 2 (total bill 1098.17)
08/11/10: Cambelt kit, fan belt, waterpump, water coolant pipe x 2 (total bill £651.90). Mileage was 81237.
Tyres are all less than 4 months old and have covered less than 500 miles. The fan works perfectly as do the vis motors (brand new inlet manifold with vis motors less than 10k ago).
The car runs beautifully, feeling reassuringly safe and solid on a variety of road conditions. There is no evidence of water ingress anywhere.
There are 2 minor detracting factors:
1. The electric mirror adjustment control seems to have some broken contacts - you cannot move the wing mirrors downwards
2. The air conditioning will need recharging, as it was used extensively during the hot summer.
Those aside, it is extremely hard to fault this car.
The asking price: £1250
As stated above, I may consider a swap/part exchange with an automatic Rover 75 or ZT.
The car is located in Torquay, South Devon.
