1993 Peugeot

The 205 GTI was launched in 1984 to rival and some say better the iconic VW Golf Gti. In 1987 model the 1.9 was introduced. There were a couple of tweaks over the years and this example is one of the final series made.

The 205 is still often treated as a benchmark in group car tests of the newest GTI models or equivalent. Peugeot itself has never truly recreated this success in future GTI models.

The 205 Gti is revered amongst enthusiasts for its no frills, light weight body and pin sharp handling.

It has featured in several articles over the years and is frequently placed as one of the top drivers cars of all time(even amongst company such as the E30 M3/Porsche 911 RS and McLaren F1!)

This example is the youngest and lowest mileage 205 Gti known to the Peugeot Sport Owners Club. It was delivered on 11/08/1993 by Warwick Wright of Holloway. The first owner was a Frenchman living in London. He sold it to Gavin Boswood who ended up being posted to a job in Holland after two years of use. He kept his house in London and left the car for 13 years unused. It was 'discovered' by J Yarwood (a Pro Golfer and Pug enthusiast) and bought with 23,815 original miles! It was in excellent but dusty condition and still had 80s cassettes in it with a bottle of Davidoff! There were some light marks which were then dealt with and the car was re-commissioned mechanically. The car was then sold to a Porsche and Classic Car Collector, M Ashton. We acquired it from Mr Ashton and sold it to a client who then sold it back to J Yarwood the original 'discoverer'! He is moving to the US so we just bought it back into stock.

The paint, wheels and interior are all unmolested, unmodified and immaculate. The car drives A1 and feels as good as the day it was first delivered.

It comes with a host of Bills, Articles, Original Books and Service Books, 2 Keys and Fobs, Old Mots, tax discs, warranted low mileage, Clarion Stereo/Tap Deck plus a hardback book showing pictures of when it was 'found' and brought back to life.

It retains its original plates, tax disc holder and rear window sticker.

Iconic 80s and 90s hatches are now very collectable and example such as this are near impossible to find.
