Description

Reluctantly I am selling my 944 S2, which I have run regularly over the past four and a half years; three cars in the household is quite enough. The car has a super history; I bought the car off journalist Paul Garlick (Piston Heads) in September 2010 and you can read about his time with the car by putting the search terms below (three separate ones) in the search box on the PH website (I have the OPC bill for the major work referred to therein when he took ownership, which included the replacement of timing chain and guides) which speak volumes: PH Fleet: Porsche 944 S2; Garlick's Fleet Update; PH Fleet: Ch
I have had the car serviced annually by Project Nine, a Porsche specialist in Marden, Kent (Feb 2015 the most recent). The service book is complete from new, with the exception of a period from c 136,000 miles to c 150,000 miles, with a mixture of OPC and specialist centres; it has two keys. The tax runs until 1 October 2015; it has an MOT until the beginning of April 2015 and will require some money to be spent on it for its next MOT. I have just had the fuel lines replaced (which eventually corrode) as well as the rear brake lines which are the bigger jobs as the rear axle needs to be lowered. It will need the power steering looking at, the handbrake will need some attention (possibly new shoes). From an advisory point of view, new front brake lines and pads may be required. All the electrics work, including the clock, with the exception of one of the seat squab motors and the central locking only works from the passenger side. The exterior is sound and there are a few bits of rust; tyres are good as is the interior, with the exception of the drivers’ seat bolsters, which I planned to replace but never did; the dash has a couple of small cracks from the sun (not uncommon).
In summary, a terrific car which has served me extremely well, in need of a bit of work but really very sound with a very interesting and verifiable history. I thought I should advertise it before I decide to park it in the garage and make it a long term project to restore to concours, which would not be a domestically popular decision. All the above reflected in the price of £2,450.
