1981 Porsche

Porsche wanted to enter the Group 4 sports car class at Le Mans in 1980 and base a car on their successful 924 mainstream model. Accordingly they had to homologate 400 road cars with all upgrades which included a turbo charged engine, close ratio 5 speed gearbox, limited slip differential, wider wheel arches, bigger brakes, larger wheels and tyres, extra cooling ducts etc. In 1981 they made a total of 406 (including 6 prototypes) 924 'Carrera GT' variants with just 75 right hand drive cars produced, internally designated by Porsche as type 938.

The car was a 150mph pocket rocket with over 210bhp/203 lbs/ft of torque on tap and sublime handling to match, due to a 49/51 weight distribution and its racing pedigree is underlined tipping the scales at just 1180Kg and benefits from a 0-60mph time of just 6.5s.

This car was first registered in March 1981 and has had just 4 owners, most famously being part of the famous Patrick Collection in Birmingham where the car was on display for over 15 years. All previous M.O.T's and a comprehensive service history confirm that the car has covered just over 7,000 miles from new.
