2003 Renault

For sale is my 2003 Renault Clio 172 Cup. This car has been my pride and joy for the last year and a half and unfortunately needs to be sold as I am going back to sea. This car is the definition of hot hatch, they are small, light, handle well and very fun to drive. This car is in Mondial Blue, the Cup model only came in Blue or Silver and in my opinion the blue paintwork is far superior, the paint looks amazing in the sunshine. The Cup is a rare version of the standard 172 Renault Sport models that has improved suspension, reduced engine bay sound damping and the overall weight of the car decreased by around 90kgs. These make them excellent track day cars and can literally be driven straight on to a track and then home again, or completely converted into a full track day car.

1 Years MOT, Tax until 28th Feb 2014, 78k mileage - low for the age, 2.0L Petrol Manual Engine which gives great performance on such a lightweight car, 4 seats. This car is very economical and I regularly get 36+ MPG on urban driving and 40-50MPG on a long drive. The car has just had a new exhaust and centre section, these parts were standard manufacturers parts but still sound excellent when in the higher rev range. Had 2 new tyres a few months ago. 1 Key included. Mechanically the car has been absolutely sound, no problems through the winter with cold starts etc and haven’t had to have any work on it other than the cam belts at purchase.

As soon as I purchased this car I had the cam belt and dephaser pulley replaced. This was approximately 8k miles ago.

Right Thumb Grip on the steering wheel is slightly worn, as it does with all other Renault Sports

Some small scratches in the paintwork as can be expected of a car of this age

The paint on the alloys has been scratched and is starting to peel off, I was assured a small refurbishment would fix this, however it is only noticeable up close

Only the passenger chair will fold forwards (not a problem as the driver never has to get out which is nice!)
