Description
Hello,
The time has come to move on from the Impreza. I love the car and will no doubt miss it but I've completed the process of bringing it to the standard I wanted and am now looking for a BMW.
So up for sale is
Subaru Impreza Blobeye WRX Turbo in WR O2C Blue
Registered 06/07/2004
Purchase date 03/03/2015
91,855 miles which will go up slightly as used every now and again
MOT until 02 March 2016
The car really is in excellent condition through out, I looked at quite a few before deciding on this this example. My criteria before purchasing was
the 'correct' colour O2C blue
low mileage
as close to standard as possible
no rust/excellent bodywork/paintwork
After looking at some examples that were advertised as 'excellent condition / FSH' and being very disappointed I found this one and was really pleased with the over all condition and it ticked all the boxes; the car did need some maintenance work so I purchased it and set to work bringing it up to a high standard.
Since owning the car all maintenance work has been carried out by 3 Arches Garage in Cardiff, a company well known and respected in the Subaru community. The standard of work there is excellent and I was very pleased to find a Subaru specialist locally.
The work carried out in my ownership consists of:
Full service (3 Arches) including cambelt change and pulleys
Replacement suspension with OEM specification dampers from Germany and Prodrive Blue springs* 4 wheel alignment to a fast road spec.
Replacement clutch and flywheel. Clutch Is Competition Clutch Stage 2 single plate organic capable of holding 607hp, flywheel is chromoly ultra lightweight. Drivability is very near standard in both pedal feel and modulation with the added benefit of less rotating mass and a freer revving EJ.
Replacement Godspeed (grooved) discs and kevlar pads
Replacement OEM Subaru centre section exhaust system
Replacement Whiteline front and rear ARB bushes and Whiteline ARB Droplinks
New Scoobyworld mudflaps
Additional work carried out consists of interim services and other smaller jobs carried out that I have invoices for. The history folder for my ownership totals £3,241.56
Modifications include:
Revolution Millennium 8X18 wheels, professionally refurbished (they were a very good when I purchased them but I wanted a different shade of gold. These are now perfect with no marks. As new 225/40/18 Toyo T1R tyres. I can include the original WRX wheels with good tyres if full asking price is agreed
Milltek rear section exhaust. Allows the Subaru rumble with being loud or creating drone in the cabin, The car has been over to France twice this year and is refined and quiet at cruising speeds.
Suede steering wheel and HKB boss that correctly addresses the airbag light and retains horn/indicator functions. I have the original Momo wheel that I will supply with the car
Turbosmart dumpvalve.
HIDs
Rear vortex roof spoiler. This isn't exactly to my taste but is of course removable, I became accustomed to it over time.
Nicely weighted matt black aluminium gear knob
Fog light covers to smooth the front of the car, originals will be supplied also.
Aftermarket stereo with amplifier in boot (installed on seat back so as not to intrude into boot area) and Hertz ESK Energy 6.5" components in front doors, excellent sound.
The car is now I feel at a very high near original standard, always garaged in my ownership. I wanted to keep the car as close to how Subaru intended as possible whilst making small upgrades to improve drivability.
Points to note:
The air conditioning doesn't blow cold. It's never been on my radar to fix as I barely if ever use it in this country!
The keyless entry doesn't work, standard Subaru issue but again I just use the key and that woks perfectly
I've tried to be as honest as possible. Half of me thinks I should keep and enjoy the car, its an absolute pleasure to drive, hugely reliable and confidence inspiring. It's grip levels are amazing. I do have however a need to own a BMW again which I can't shake off!
Price wise I feel I've priced it very competitively and priced it to sell. The car now needs for nothing as all the large maintenance items have been addressed. Feel free to give me a ring to discuss further
Thank you
James
*These springs are developed by a company owned by an ex Prodrive engineer specifically for the blobeye WRX and are made by Eibach. They are specifically made to allow the WRX to handle as well as possible whilst retaining a very complaint and comfortable road manner. They lower the car by around 15mm so speed bumps etc are not a concern
