TOYOTA MK11 MR2 fitted with 190bhp 2zz engine and full body restoration

For sale is my pride and joy, I've spent 4 years perfecting this car but now due to unforeseen circumstances I need to sell.

*The car has had a professional Woodsport engine conversion fitted with the 1.8 litre 2zz-ge VVTLi engine from a Corolla T-Sport - this is the same engine used in the Elise R and kicks out 190bhp and revs to 8400 rpm.

The gearbox is a close ratio 6-speed unit from the Celica 2zz but has been upgraded with a LSD from the Mk3 MR2 for ultimate handling and fun.

The engine conversion alone cost £4000 with a low mileage donor engine and gearbox, all work being carried out by Woodsport, renowned MR2 engine conversion specialist.

*The car has only covered 76k miles from new and has benefitted from a full Dickersons body overhaul a year ago which included a complete re-spray and there is absolutely no rust what-so-ever on the car finished to an excellent standard. As many will know the Dickersons brothers are the best when it comes to MR2 bodywork, specialising in MK1’s. that’s why I chose them to do mine.

*Other touches that really perfect the car.

- There is a full WMS Alloy 4-Pot front brake conversion that uses big 280mm discs, so stopping power is excellent.

- Evo 7 Recaro colour matched seats are fitted lower than standard which improves the feel of the car no end.

- Poly bushes have been fitted throughout the front and rear suspension and steering rack, replacing the old rubber bushes

- Alignment done by Wheels in motion with adjustable 2srus rose jointed rear track control arms

The car now goes, stops and handles superbly. It really is the most fun car I’ve owned and built, being light, powerful with a lovely kick in the power when the 2nd cam engages at 6200rpm and revving right around to 8400rpm. Being mid-engine and rear wheel drive the balance is superb and the handling now with the LSD is even better. All this but it can still achieve over 40mpg on the motorway, in part thanks to the 6-speed gearbox but also due to the lightness of the car and dual character of the engine.
