1987 TVR

1987 350i Tasmin in the best colour, white showing 75 000 miles. History unknown prior to my friend owning it but shows manufacture on log book as 1994 but is registered on a D plate ( chassis number SABTVR03214297002) so possibly held back very late until sold. Purchased from a friend in 2014, after the car had been layed up for 7 years, the plan was to restore the car after always wanting one. Sadly time just isn't available to give her the attention and commitment she deserves so it's time to move her on. The car is a resto project but has all parts present with nothing missing and below is a summary of the condition.

Body

Needs re-spray but all complete with no cracks or splits just very minor crazing. Windscreen is starting to de-laminate in the bottom corners

Chassis

Out-riggers have rusted on both sides. The front portion upto the tunnel has had work but the mid and rear section is unknown but believed to be ok as the car was parked up with a current MOT. The front axles are fully rebuilt with all new AVO adjustable shocks and springs and all new ball joint, track rod ends and bottom wishbones. Also has been fully poly-bushed with red bushes new discs and Willwood four pot calipers.

The rear axles need work as do the inboard calipers and handbrake mechanisms

Engine

Rover 3.5i V8. Starts and runs well with usual oil pressure and gets up to temp all ok. Injection system seems to be be good if the popping and banging from the exhaust is anything to go by!!

Gearbox

All five forward gears present and correct as is reverse. Clutch slave cylinder has a minor weep as system needs topping up very occasionally.

Interior

Red / grey piped leather all present but in need of some love. All switch gear is present but usual wiring issues so will need a good overhaul. Hood is all present with no rips or tears but rear window has brown edging to it now.

Wheels / Tyres

Stands on the correct alloys with all centre caps. Alloys were re-furbed just before storage but tyres, whilst looking good, are perished.

With the car comes a rather comprehensive spares package, with some 'Holy Grail' bits in there. Please don't ask to split these because they are going with the car if sold.

1 x boot strut

1 x s/h headlamp motor

2 x black front indicator covers

1 x new indicator stalk unit

2 x s/h Lucas M.A.F.'s

4 x Alloy Wheel centres

1 x new foam air filter cone

1 x new complete set of Rover V8 engine gaskets and heat shields
