VAUXHALL VX220 TURBO 2003

There are few cars that can match the VX220 Turbo for performance at the price. I have owned this brilliant yellow example for nearly 2 years and it just gets better with a good range of upgrades.

When new it was supplied with remote central locking with alarm, the optional door pockets and carpets. Since new, the previous owner (for 5 years) and I have added various enhancements to further improve the driving experience.

Suspension upgrades include Gaz nickels and uprated bushes. I added uprated toe links and an adjustable front anti-roll bar last year. The diffuser is from MMG. The brakes are superb thanks to grooved discs and Carbone Lorraine RC5+ pads.

Wheels have been refurbished and are fitted with good tyres all round.

Several other parts have been replaced during my ownership, including the fitting of an alloy radiator, coolant header tank, alternator and an uprated heater (Fez series 2). The ECU was recently replaced, with the latest map downloaded from Vauxhall.

The cambelt was changed during last service by Back on Track.

The car looks great and drives very well. One thing I haven't got round to is the worn driver's seat bolster, common to many VX220s.

The car is taxed to the end of April and the MoT is due in June.
