VW Corrado with VR6 turbo engine and syncro 4WD system.

This was built by Dubsport of Wigan in 2004, also responsible for the crazy twin VR6 blue mk3,and the rear engined VR6 turbo Mk1. All of these cars were famous in the VW scene, and I have the copy of Golf+ magazine with the Mk1 and the Corrado as feature cars.

I have owned the car for the last 3 years and it is quite unlike anything else to drive. The combination of the VR engine, the turbo and the semi helical gearkit make an amazing noise when it gets going! It has only been used as a weekend toy, and for trips to shows and meets in the summer. All major work has been carried out at Corrado specialists DG Autotech in Kidderminster since the original build. Oil changes have been regular, and it has just had a new clutch and 4 new tyres fitted.

The interior is in excellent condition, and the Recaros look stunning. There are a few blemishes on the exterior, and I can send close ups of these on email, but the metallic effect of the blackberry paint still glitters nicely.

It has the aftermarket lights fitted at the moment, but I have all the original ones in mint condition to put back on if they are preferred.

I am happy to take anyone interested for a drive, but will want to see a fully comprehensive insurance cover note if you want to drive it yourself.

Please note- the mileage shown is on the original shell which was completely overhauled during the build. The car has only covered about 15,000 miles since then.

Jakinb corrado

The car is MOTed until September but has sailed through all of them since I've had it.

The only defect on the interior is four small screw holes on the passenger side of the dash, probably where a boost controller has been. The rest of the interior is immaculate and there is no wear on the mats, carpets or seats.

It is currently running 310bhp, which I've been quite happy with whilst I've owned it and has been a good compromise between fun and reliability. The advice from Emerald was that the downpipe is a bit small compared to everything else, so changing this would give a big power increase, and there is a 14psi map to make use of the extra flow if this was done in the future. It was upgraded to K3 and the 3 way map switch added by Emerald in Norwich last year.

Reason for selling: I have recently changed jobs and now have a pickup to use for work, and my wife works within a walk from our house. As we now have several cars and the pickup, we want something that can tick all the boxes for a fun and useful weekend car- so something with a big boot, 5 doors and a bit of poke. As much fun as the Corrado is, it's not exactly something you can throw dogs, firewood and camping gear in the back of!
