1991 Volkswagen

I bought it as a project as I used to own a similar car 20 years ago and thought I would restore the car back to original condition. I have spent a small fortune on the car recently to get it up to standard. It’s now in lovely condition and will only require minor work to make this a great original 16V.

It does not smoke or use oil, gear changes are solid, no crunches, pulls cleanly

through the revs.

Immobiliser and Remote alarm (unfortunately only one set of keys as the spares were lost before me)

Very good service history with stamped service book

Lots of old MOT’s receipts and invoices

Since owning the car it has the following work:

Mechanical

Had a full service and new cambelt in December, has been garaged since (was SORN until March) – see invoice

All new discs and pads all round

All new suspension, springs and shocks

New front wish bones and bushes

New front lower arms and bushes

New rear beam and bushes

New rear brake lines

New heater matrix

New ISV

Body

New scuttle panel as the old one had started to go in the usual place

New windscreen + wiper blades

New battery tray

No rust around the sunroof / boot or filler cap

Sill trims and rear wheel arch trims removed and body checked any corrosion repaired

A number of small dents were also repaired

Front bumper removed and re-sprayed to removed stone chips

All 4 wheels are in good condition and the tyres have good tread

Interior

Excellent condition rainbow interior – no rips or sagging on drivers seat

Carpet in good condition

MFA is working although it has bled on the top left hand corner which doesn’t affect the numbers

Headliner not sagging

Perfect parcel shelf

New mats all round

Issues

Alarm does not shut the central locking

Rear Wiper does not stop on intermittent but I have a spare motor to fit and spare relays

Please bear in mind that it is 23 years old so there are still some small marks.
