Join us on an incredible tour through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland as we head to Monaco and back with a chance to drive some of the best roads in Europe and a host of mountain passes including the highest in Europe – Bonette. Passing through Germany we make our way to the heart of the car making region, before heading south into Switzerland where, over two days, we get to drive some fabulous passes in the Alps including two of our favourites – Klausen and Susten. We then head into France to drive some of the most spectacular mountain passes in Europe, including the Bonette, before heading to Monaco.
Making our way back to Blighty we head through Provence over the Alpes Maritimes, including Mont Ventoux, before finding some beautiful backroads through the Massif Central, taking us into Burgundy. Our final day sees us pass near Champagne (and a chance to visit the old GP Pits at Reims) before returning to the UK.

Starting off with a fabulous section of sinuous road through the Black Forest, we head into Switzerland and a short motorway blat takes us past Zurich to the legendary Klausen Pass, scene of many an epic race and still used today for historic racing. This takes us west over the Susten to our 4* hotel base for the next two nights – resembling a James Bond villain lair (and a firm favourite with our regulars)! The following day is more leisurely and features the following passes – Grimsel, Furka, Oberalp, St Gotthard and Nufenen: if you are adventurous and have time, you can also try Splugen and Maloja!

From our base in the Swiss Alps we head over some great passes south of Interlaken before making our way past Gstaad and Verbier and over the Col du Grand St Bernard where the closing sequences of the (original) Italian Job were filmed. Our route then heads into France over the Col du Petit St Bernard before driving in search of Col de L’Iseran. Heading back into Italy over Col du Mont Cenis, our hotel lays just the other side of the border in France not far from Sestriere. Our 4* spa hotel will allow you to relax in time for a gentler day tomorrow.

Our next stop is Monaco. Our hotel this evening is the 5* Columbus formerly owned by David Coulthard. We start our day with the Col d’Izoard before traversing the Col de Vars. We then head over Col de la Bonette, Europe’s highest pass at 2,802 metres. Heading south towards Nice a small “diversion” involves the legendary Col du Turini before we head into Monaco to our base for the evening.
