Worry not if it appears the summer of cars and motorsport has apparently lulled with the British GP, Goodwood and Le Mans behind us. The
Wilton Classic Supercar
is just a few weeks away,
PistonFest
is very soon after and we have Sunday Services aplenty as well. There are one or two new cars to discuss as well...

We'll stop carping on about the Nurburgring soon, honest. But as part our Destination Nurburgring trip with the
Jaguar F-Type
Radical SR3
. Then Toyota set a lap achieving 698mpg
in a Prius
. It's just a phase, the discussion will surely switch away soon. Hopefully.
As cars not suited to the Nurburgring, the Mercedes S65 AMG coupe must be right up there. Twin-turbo, two-ton V12 barges probably won't fare too well on track, carbon brakes or otherwise. Previously a Ford Mustang may have been added to that list also but with the new car's performance pack and promise of greatly improved dynamics, it could well prove a decent track day steed. Indeed the new V8 GT is said to be faster round a lap than a Boss 302...
Good news from the British manufacturers this week. The arrival of the
Aston V12 Vantage S Roadster
was heartily welcomed at PHHQ; who wouldn't want to combine convertible thrills with the dynamics of the V12 Vantage S? Let's hope Aston can pull it off. For now we'll have to be content with a
POTW
. And also be cheered by the news that the
Lagonda SUV
won't go any further. Phew.
Jaguar has confirmed the XE will make its full debut in September. It will most likely be a lavish affair, as is the Jaguar way, but what we've seen of the tech promises a lot too.
Even Porsche is on the Brit love with the 911 Turbo S Exclusive GB Edition. How much for an embossed glove compartment and Exclusive indoor car cover? The GB Edition is £150,327...
Matt's Caterham Academy season is now past the halfway stage with
Rockingham
a breeze compared to Oulton Park. See as well his
Dream Drive
using the Caterham for another route through North Wales.
On the Fleet, the Clio 200 has been enjoyed at Bedford (with a natty new camera mount recording the action) and some track time has further enamoured the M235i to Harris. Our Adrian Flux competition winner John may not have been on circuit with his Lancia Delta Integrale but that hasn't stopped his affection for it further deepening.
Since Monday we've also featured a pair of £100K Garages (see Tuesday and Thursday), very cheap V8 muscle car and detailed the new Smart too. Carpool continued the British theme with a modified Mini and Shed breached new territories with an Audi A2.
