This Petrolicious production is not one for the purist. The Alfa you see here is probably about as far from matching numbers as it's possible to be. But then given it started as a roof of a Sprint Speciale (see

), you can hardly blame owner Conrad Stevenson for pursuing his own path with the project.
That project was to compete in the Carrera Panamericana. Having shared a car he was determined to compete with his own vehicle and the Alfa became that car. It's purpose built to cope with the harsh demands of the 2,200 mile road rally and looks wonderful liveried up doing so.
But more than the Sprint Speciale, it's worth watching this vid to peer around Conrad's workshop. A man who restores classic Alfas for a living, it's crammed with old parts, shells and gorgeous cars. Lovely.
