Another race, another record for Marquez with his 13th pole of the season. Not that it helped much as he got shoved wide in the first corner and ended up well down the order while Dani was trying to do a disappearing act at the front. A charge that ended a few laps later when he slid off on one of the slow speed corners.
Pedrosa leads the pack; Marquez lurks within...
At the front, Rossi and Marquez were now joined by Lorenzo, making an interesting battle as the two Yamaha teammates are both aiming for second spot in the championship after Dani ruled himself out by crashing.
After just a few laps, it was obvious the GP would be a battle between the two Yamahas and Marquez, but could any of them make a break? Despite a valiant effort by Rossi, Marc in the end broke clear to take the win with Rossi second and Lorenzo third. Bradley so nearly took fourth, but in the end he couldn't quite catch Bradl and instead finished fifth. Rossi second in the championship, what were the odds on that at the start of the season?
The Moto2 result was a bit of a formality as Rabat only needed to finish well to tie up the championship. A fairly unexciting race saw Vinales take the win, Kallio second and Rabat third to take the title.
Well, it'd been a few weeks
Moto3 and a brilliant qualifying saw McPhee in second on the grid, an advantage he sadly lost in the first corner while Kent steamed through to fourth from a relatively poor qualifying spot. With Miller needing to win the race to have a chance of taking the title from Marquez, it all got a bit feisty mid race as he attempted to make up for a speed disadvantage under brakes and the last lap was the usual chaotic affair with six or seven riders all in with a shout. A tough last lap saw McPhee hit the dirt and Vazquez beat Miller to the line with Marquez in fifth and seriously upset with Danny Kent. With 11 points in it, Valencia is going to be fun!
