Of the few issues raised about the
Jaguar F-Type R coupe
, a paucity of horsepower certainly hasn't been one. Still, that hasn't stopped Hennessey doing a little tinkering on its F-Type demonstrator. Because why not go even faster?
The result is the HPE600 upgrade. Through a new supercharger pulley, ECU remap, HPE induction system and uprated intercooler Hennessey has found 623hp and 568lb ft from the F-Type. That's up from 550hp and 502lb ft as standard. And with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty. The video here is the HPE600 on the dyno and strip running on 93 octane fuel. Without wanting to ruin and suprise it's fast. Really, really fast.
But that's not the best part. Oh no. The F-Type's 5.0-litre V8 is of course used in other JLR products and Hennessey will gladly tweak those to HPE600 spec. A 620hp Jaguar XFR perhaps? Or Range Rover? Hmm...
