This weekend saw the opening of Motorcycle Live, or the NEC Bike Show as most of us still call it. Opened by WSB champion Tom Sykes, WSS winner Sam Lowes, Speedway winner Tai Woffinden and BSB 2013 victor Alex Lowes, the show is bigger than ever and will run until December 1.
Plenty on to keep everyone entertained!
PH2 took a wander around on Saturday and if you still remember the NEC Show as a car boot sale of used clothing then it is most certainly time you took a trip back up to Brum; it has vastly improved in recent years. As well as plenty of trade stands with cut-price clothing, every major motorcycle manufacturer has a stand with all the latest 2014 bikes on display. From the Panigale Superleggera to the new VFR, they are all there to be seen and their tyres kicked. And it doesn't stop there.
With 17 free live features, including nine opportunities to ride a bike, as well as the usual selection of stars up on stage being interviewed by James Whitham and Steve Parrish, it's a proper day out for bike fans.
Tickets cost £20 per adult, £13 for seniors and £9 for children ages 6-16 and bike parking is free. Parking for a car is a bit steep at £8 (£2 cheaper than normal thanks to a Motorcycle Live subsidy). PH2 recommends you take your own sarnies though, the food prices at the NEC are pretty high...
