Autosport International
may well have spotted the
SVM Qashqai R
in all its glory. Despite aiming for an 'OEM+' look for its crazy Qashqai, it must have a drawn its fair share of curious glances.
It takes R35 tuning one step further!
With the car complete, SVM has released a few more details about the project. We'll take its assertion of driving better than a regular R35 GT-R with a pinch of salt, even if the claims of an improved ride are more believable. And the absurd performance can of course be enjoyed through a panoramic roof and in a wonderfully weird Qashqai/GT-R cabin.
As part of the 1000R upgrades, the GT-R's VR38DETT engine has received an increase in capacity from 3.8-litres to 4.1-litres, aiding low-end torque as well as that mad power output. A higher compression ratio and the Stage 6 Garrett turbos mentioned previously contribute to 'over 1,100hp if required'. And it can run on E85. Bonus.
With the car finished, SVM are keen to get media behind the wheel of the Qashqai R in the near future. The video will have to sate yours (and our!) appetite for now.
