Looks like the American theme is continuing! SEMA is done but the media days of the LA show begin next week. We've also been out in California for the AMG GT and Las Vegas for the Rallycross. But there's been plenty to keep us entertained in Britain too, all of which you can see below!
There's quite a group test coming up...
The wait is finally over for
the AMG GT
. Still a little behind on the tech? Get every detail
here
. Then read the first drive, get very excited about Mercedes' F-Type rival and set your new

immediately after. We've got it all sorted.
There's more from AMG and Mercedes this week as well. There wasn't a GT to drive at Portimao with the Advanced Training but so much other AMG goodness that it almost didn't matter. An expensive two days, yes, but most probably worth it. And at the other end of the Mercedes product spectrum, first details have been released of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. Can it succeed where the previous version didn't? Don't forget as well to check out the Mercedes-Benz World Sunday Service review; another superb selection of cars and PHers!
Don't think it's been nothing but M-B this week however, as there has been plenty to discuss on forthcoming rivals. The AMG GT will compete directly with the Mclaren Sports Series and the Maybach could have another rival if the Aston Lagonda makes it to the UK.
Yep, a little different to Croft
Two extremes of world motorsport covered by PistonHeads since Monday also. From the glamour and chintz of
Rallycross in Vegas
Race of Remembrance
, we're nothing if not broad in our coverage! That's before mentioning taking a Lotus Cortina
to Bo'ness hillclimb
, the place where Jim Clark made his name. Oh, and the new classic
Jaguar race series
That Reiter Engineering will build KTM's new X-Bow GT4 arguably wasn't as significant as discovering Reiter also builds a Camaro GT3. With a 7.9-litre V8. See the video here. What was that about KTM?
There have been some other fantastic motorsport videos to talk about also. Tuthill Porsche has successfully completed Rally Germany in its GT3, a Daytona-winning Jaguar XJR-9 is being auctioned and we've revisited Stig's heroics on Rally GB.
The Nissan GT-R reviewed recently has featured again in a pair of features this week, Dan discussing its potential
as a design classic
and Matt using it for a dream drive
at Beachy Head
We have inadvertently managed to feature quite a few V12s since Monday, which is nice. There's a Ferrari Daytona and a Lamborghini LM002 for sale in the classifieds plus, if the former is rather out of reach, a focus on the more affordable end of V12 Ferraris. There are a few surprises in there.
What else? We have two more £100K Garages (see Wednesday here and Friday here), a Fleet update on Dan's venerable Eunos and a Carpooler keeping to the multi-cylindered theme with a V10 Audi. More next week!
