We hear that Euro MPs are getting heated up about automobile air-conditioning. Reckoning that the gas used in a/c units contributes to global warming, they're keen on banning the gas used to cool the overheated occupants.
They're suggesting that carmakers use less environmentally damaging gases such as carbon dioxide after 2011.
One MEP even came up with a novel suggestion: Chris Davies said that "Hot drivers should open their windows until the new systems are ready." Hmm, try that in the rain...
