Fancy driving one of these?
There's a new prestige car company in town -- unusually, this one's based in the North -- and it's just launched a members' club.
Benefits to members of the RPM Club (Rio Prestige Members) include trips, for example ice driving in Norway, Alpine passes of Switzerland/ Italy, and possibly a run to the Nordkap. Other benefits include track days, plus a yearly trip to the Isle of Man.
The main draw, however, will be discounted hire rates, and the opportunity to drive the club's Pagani Zonda C12 S and Koenigsegg CC8S. No-one else in the world offers these vehicles for hire, and the company is currently in negotiations over a Bugatti Veyron.
Rio Prestige said it has the largest supercar fleet north of Cheshire if not north of London. The fleet's online (see link below). The company services the whole country but operates from Scotland with most of its fleet being used in Manchester and the North, said the company's Edward Legge.
"Supercars are regularly in London due to the shortage of vehicles in the south", said Legge. "We also offer luxury driving breaks in Scotland and elsewhere, and are agents for the Amber Lounge in Monaco, and Sunseeker yachts."
Other cars in the fleet include an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Bentley Continental GT, various recent Ferraris, Ford Mustang V8 GT, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 997 Carrera and Cayman S, and a brace of TVRs - a Sagaris and a Tuscan.
As an indication of prices, it costs £90 a day to hire the company's Mini Cooper S Cabriolet and £1,250 for its Lamborghini Gallardo Roadster, with weekend rates available.
