Want to know how good your drifts are?
Racelogic, known for its in-car measurement technology, has launched an exciting new product called the DriftBox. It’s a GPS-based performance meter that also measures your drift angle and can give you a score out of 10 for each corner or sector. It can also measure lap time, and has a removable flash card for data-logging circuit analysis.
Housed inside the DriftBox is a GPS engine coupled with sophisticated motion sensors. Speed, position, acceleration and drift are measured 10 times a second. It measures drift angle by comparing the angle the vehicle is pointing, which is computed using motion sensors, with the angle the vehicle is travelling, which is computed from the GPS.
DriftBox comes with an MMC/SD Flash memory card socket. This allows 10Hz logging of time, distance, speed, position, G-force, lap times, split times, and drift angle.
It will also do speed camera warnings, so for £465 inc VAT it looks like good value for money.
