Lexus IS200, BMW 330d (E92), BMW 650i (E63), Volvo XC60
"I decided that my £100K garage should contain four cars each fulfilling a certain job; a daily driver with four doors, a large practical family wagon, a car for the special occasion and a snotter to protect the other three. After very careful consideration and a lot of umming and ahhing my list was finalised but notable mentions need to go out to the C63 AMG, Nissan GT-R, 997 Turbo, Aston V8 Vantage and TVR Tuscan, all of which didn't quite make the final cut."
BMW E90 M3
"So many reasons. The engine, the gearbox, the heritage and being the last N-A V8 BMW. Not to mention I currently have one as daily driver and I absolutely love it, therefore this car just had to be in my Garage. The rarity and Q-car looks of the four-door saloon really appeals to me and apart from mine I have only ever seen one other in the flesh and on the road. This does mean there was only less than 10 actually available to chose from in the classifieds but this well specced facelift DCT example stood out."

Audi RS6 V10 Avant
Cost: £29,950
Balance: £42,100
Why I chose it: "Every garage should have a practical, spacious car for family duties/carting items around. The RS6 offers power, comfort, practicality and the 4x4 system for the bad weather when the rear-wheel drive cars aren't up to the job. Like the M3 saloon this car has an understated Q-car appeal and the subtle but excellent colour combo is fantastic on this particular example. It is also available at a very reasonable price and offers an impressive list of options."

Ferrari 360 Modena
"This is simple, it's a beautiful Ferrari. Whilst my previous two choices had a certain understated appeal to them this one grabs you by the scruff on the neck and demands look at me. Whilst there were cheaper options in the classifieds, if you're going to buy a Ferrari it's got to be a red one."

BMW 730i E32
Cost: £800
Balance: £300
Why I chose it: "Having a small balance remaining it made sense to add a Shed to the garage to do all the undesirable jobs the other three wouldn't be suitable for. There is no point putting the others at any risk when an old barge can take care of the horrible jobs. This 7 Series appears to be an absolute bargain and offers plenty of space to be a suitable cheap workhorse."
