Indulge us if we go a bit Skyline/GT-R obsessed over the coming days but having looked back at the founding era of
the Hakosuka
with the Spotted earlier today and on the cusp of driving the
latest NISMO version
we've been doing a lot of essential research. That, inevitably, has resulted in quite bit of time on Nissan's media sites and YouTube channels.
Here then is further fruit from that richly stocked tree. A racing R32 Skyline in Calsonic livery is very much the embodiment of the dominant force that was the GT-R in late 80s and early 90s saloon car and GT racing, the R32 winning all 29 rounds of the All Japan Touring Car Championship that it entered through from 1989 to 1993. This car, being given a bit of a shakedown on Nissan's test track, took the titles in 1990 and '93 and though not being given quite as many beans as we might like is better seen out on a track than locked away silently in a museum or storage facility.
Many of us first met the legendary Calsonic Skyline in pixellated form back in the day. But here it is, in the metal and out on track.
Enjoy!
