Silverstone Auctions has just released the results for its Salon Prive sale, the auction you may recall featured the
'Stradale'
consignment of breathtaking sports and supercars.
Perhaps the most interesting results were in fact those cars that didn't sell. Both the F40 and F50 remained unsold , as did the Miura P400. Hmm. But the overall sales rate was 61 per cent and the auction still made £9.9m so there are plenty of sold lots to discuss too.
The very first Range Rover produced is the biggest talking point, with a final selling price of £132,250. The beautiful Ferrari Daytona Spider from the Stradale group of cars just exceeded its estimate at £2.27m while the 250 GT Pininfarina S2 sold way above predictions at £707,250.
It wouldn't be a classic auction without an air-cooled Porsche or two selling at mega bucks. This exceptionally brown 1972 911 S just beat its estimate at £161,000 and a 2.4 S Targa from a year later made £195,500.
The full results list from Salon Prive can be seen here. The next Silverstone Auctions sale is take place in The Wing at Silverstone on Saturday September 20.
