The clocks go back on Sunday morning, the nights will be getting longer and winter is certainly on the way. What better opportunity then to stay in the warm and catch up with the past seven days on PH? Since Monday we've driven the latest fast Audi, celebrated an iconic Cosworth Ford and already become quite excited about
Le Mans 2015
Won't be many red S6s around...
It was a real coincidence, honest. Three of our biggest stories this week have featured red cars, all of them rarely seen in that colour and two of them saloons. Indeed our PH Hero-featured
Ford Sierra RS Cosworth
was one of just 14 Radiant Red Cosworth Sapphires ever made. The
MY14 Nissan GT-R
driven on Wednesday was in a red also, a rather more mature look compared to typical GT-R hues. The driving experience remains as thrilling as ever. Yet to drive
an Audi S6
in red does seem to defeat the object a little; such unassuming performance cars should have a subdued colour, right?
Blue
Whichever paint is applied to the floating panels of a Zenos E10 it's guaranteed to get noticed. Driven as a well-used prototype earlier this week we're really keen to try a full production model.
Don't show children this. Quite scary
A fair few interesting stories from British manufacturers other than Zenos this week as well. With McLaren releasing further details on the jaw-dropping
P1 GTR
POTW
to it also. Lotus has featured in a pair of stories, the announcement of a
new design boss
significant enough before the news that the Exige S will receive
anautomatic gearbox
. Quite a few comments on that latter story...
A week of highs and lows for Caterham on PistonHeads moreover. Matt competed his last Academy race and we've celebrated its unloved 21 cousin too. For the latest on the F1 team turmoil see here.
The rest of the PH news was rather more global. The four-cylinder Cayman has been filmed in Germany, Ford has revealed a pair of F-150s for SEMA, the MotoGP went to Australia and there's big news on the Coventry ring road. No, really.
Cool car and a brilliant story
And the global theme continues with our PHer contributions and a
Carpooler from Spain
. A classic SEAT built to hillclimb spec it's a very cool car and a super story.
What else? We have another £100K Garage, one more Dream Drive to tick off and the latest on life with a Renaultsport Clio RS200. Plus if you thought the new Audi TT was a little staid, have a look at the racing car.
Speaking of motorsport, it's another weekend with a PHer staff member racing at Silverstone. What are the chances? Seemingly not content with one MX-5 enduro in a year, Dan is competing in the Birkett Six-Hour Relay with a Jota-prepared Mazda. Keep up to date here.
