Anyone got that Heath Ledger 'not sure if serious' meme to hand? That was the first reaction in the bustling PH newsroom this morning upon receipt of an email from 'Yummy Motors' and its excitement about unveiling the 'thrill injecting' XCTr.
Rumours of 991 GT3 engine unconfirmed
Long-time Viz fans
may well detect a whiff of the Satsuma Castanet XR4 Turbo in both the XCTr's looks and the language of the website, which is big on promise but thin on detail. The possibly painful sounding process of 'injecting thrill' crops up numerous times, Yummy Motors promising "performance on hypercar level", "amazingly late braking points and breathtaking cornering speeds" while also boasting of ease of maintenance and green credentials too.
Other details from the press release include a (possibly explosive, going by the graphic) naturally aspirated front-mid engine, manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, light weight and compact dimensions. Which is kind of what you'd expect of what would seem to be a cubist interpretation of a Caterham Seven/Westfield/Donkervoort/delete as applicable.
There is also a video on YouTube of the XCTr busy injecting thrill somewhere on a mountain road and a sign-off from 'Philipp Anderegg, owner'.
More information on the car as and when we get it. For now see the Yummy Motors website for more. Well, not that much more as yet.
