A big thanks to all of you that made the trip to Robin Hood Airport yesterday to pore over Vulcan XH558 and of course the
Vulcan To The Sky Trust
staff and volunteers for making this such an excellent Sunday Service.
We were all able to have a bit of a lie-in as this one didn't start until 1000. The car park soon filled up with a typically diverse range of PHer cars. We had all sorts from from a GT-R to an Atom (very brave in this weather!) and lots in between. There were a few dedicated to the Sunday morning car cleaning cause while other others were left in their 'natural' state.
Tours of the aircraft started at 1100 on which we learned some amazing facts. Did you know, for example, that the Vulcan had a 100 per cent service record last year? A testament to British engineering and as good a reason as any to donate and keep this awesome aircraft flying. The Vulcan can also consume 25 tonnes of air per minute through the intakes (!).
As we've mentioned before, this year's Sunday Service calendar is already full with plenty of superb venues to prevent Sunday morning boredom. Keep your eyes on the homepage next week for the announcement of the next date and venue (hint: it will be in February and will be north of Watford).
Thanks again, see you all again soon.
