The
idea of a small and dynamic yet functional vehicle ‘built-for-two’ is one of
the trends being studied by the Design Department at SEAT’s Martorell
Technical Centre.
The Arosa Racer is a mini-sportscar with dynamic looks that are likely to be
seen on a future competition car. Weight reduction has been achieved by the
removal of interior furnishings such as the rear seats and side panelling,
making the Arosa Racer sportingly minimalist and designed to enhance driving
pleasure. Bucket seats, four point racing harnesses and 15" exclusive alloy
wheels are also part of the package.
Developed jointly by the SEAT Technical Centre and SEAT Sport Research &
Development, the Arosa Racer is powered by a 125bhp 1.6 MPi 16 valve engine.
Front wheel drive, 6-speed gearbox, sports suspension and larger wheels combine
to ensure an involving drive.
If the excitement of commuting whilst strapped inside a boomy competition
type car isn't your bag then the Arosa City Cruiser is more likely to be up your
street. At first glance it looks like a conventional Arosa, the only noticeable
difference being its exclusive Shadow Grey colour. Although designed as a
two-seater, the City Cruiser also comes with an easy to install innovative child
seat.
The modular design of the interior sees the passenger seat moved to the rear,
where it is flanked by a long list of purpose-designed accessories, including
child seat, a fridge-cum-bottle warmer, a PC "desk-top" surface and a
removable storage chest that doubles as a suitcase. Using an easy anchoring
system inspired by that in the Alhambra, all these accessories are kept securely
in place whilst on the move. The limited edition London version is expected to
include cappucino holders, an umbrella stand and a speedo graduated to 5 mph.
