“I’m going to buy a 911 Turbo.” A feel-good phrase if ever there was one, isn’t it? The man-maths has been done, the bank manager’s been consulted, the loan money’s in your account and it’s time to go and spend a vast amount of money on a turbocharged 911. Hooray!
A nice dilemma to have, but a tricky choice to make
Question is, which one are you going for? Every father and his son will tell you which model you ‘should’ get. They might back up their choice with sound reasoning, too, perhaps saying it’s the most promising investment, the most reliable, or simply ‘the best one’. And if all you’ve decided so far is that you want a 911 with a blower, knowing whether they’re right or not can be a bit of a minefield.
Our timeline feature should give you some of the background to each Turbo model. But knowledge of the market is the sort of thing that can only come with experience. So we’ve enlisted the help of some of the country’s leading Porsche specialists to find some answers. We’ve looked hard at the state of the 911 Turbo marketplace, and tried to work out which models are losing value and which are gaining; which ones are best if you want a 911 to serve as your only form of transport; and which make sense if you just want to stash one away for the future. And we’ve found some prime examples of each, too. Enjoy!
