Time for a bit of multi-culturalism, folks, by which we mean the relatively laid-back muscle of the latest Chevy Camaro SS getting a dose of ruthless German efficiency courtesy of Munich tuner Karl Geiger.
Herr Geiger has taken one of the first 6.2-litre LS3 V8-equipped Camaro SS's to arrive in Germany, and done what comes naturally - bolting on a socking great supercharger and a free-er flowing exhaust to uprate the standard car's 432hp to a highly respectable 568hp at 4,100rpm with 590lb ft of torque.
The result, according to the latest press release from Geiger Cars is an SS that will hit a top speed of 195mph if you're brave enough to hang on. A 0-60 time isn't quoted in the press release, but something around the 4.5sec mark seems plausible.
In order to maintain a semblance of controllability, Geiger have installed up-rated coil-over units at the front, and added adjustable anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles. The brakes have also been upgraded with six-pot callipers at the front matched to 380mm grooved discs, and four-pot callipers with 355mm discs at the rear.
Externally, with the exception of those Geiger Cars stickers, the car appears standard apart from its wheels and tyres - uprated to 10x22ins light alloys with 265/30 front and 295/25 rear tyres.
What's not to like? Except possibly the price, but we know we can't afford it as they say we've got to ask...
