As some of may have noticed I have a soap box about poor OPC experience.
To counter that I have to report an excellent experience today. Zyppy said to me that rather than abandon Porsche, why not try Leicester as he has had good experience there. As I was driving to London from York I popped in unannounced and was immediately introduced to Richard, Dealer Principal. This was a bit of a surprise, but then I realised that this was a small dealer compared to some, but very much like a family as Richard has built it up from scratch from when it opened in 2007.
Initial impressions were very good. None of the smoke and mirrors, the BS that I have had elsewhere. Just straight talking, telling me how it is, not what they think I want to hear.
I hope this is a consistent experience and so far they get a big thumbs up from me - this is the very first OPC where I have been where I have felt in anyway welcome. Of course it may simply be that I know Zyppy and Phooey and Richard was merely doing them a big favour by being kind to me

I bought my car from Leicester OPC and they were great. Although they were a wee bit snobby with me at first ( my Glaswegian accent) but soon as I was buying it was a great service. Tom was a great salesman - not pushy , very knowledgable and follow up was good also. I have since had the car in for service and things fixed under warranty including the gear box linkage which broke in the first 4 weeks of ownership. Overall a professional team with good customer service in my opinion, but I'm sure others views may differ?
Mr Grout actually spoke to you,
I think he glanced at me during my recent hand over, but speak
OP your impressions are fare and in general the team at Leicester are down to earth and unpretentious, keen to weed potential clients from dreamers
and diligent to a fault.
I've now purchased 2 new vehicles from them and have in general been pleased with their straight forward attitude to the job in hand.On both occasions
they have always meet with my requirements to successfully negotiate a sale, always in a pleasant and stress free fashion without any pressure or hard sell tactics.
Any questions or minor obstacles have been answered and over come with little or no fuss to conclude a pleasurable all round OPC experience.I would commend
Alan Dennis and his Sales team, especially Jas, on my most recent purchase for being easy going and almost laid back whilst managing my sale in an exemplary manner.
The little things made a difference such as always being kept in the picture, being made to feel that my sale was important to them and that they had my best interests at heart,
things many larger OPC's don't always show and things you would never get from some other that I could mention Premium Dealerships.I was also impressed by their youngest
member, young Adam who kindly handed over and took payment for my car cover and whilst doing so chatting away and asking questions about my other cars and showing interest
in my new purchase which I found refreshing into days society.Well done Adam, a very polite young man at the start of his working career.
I have no affiliation to OPC Leicester other than being a happy punter that supports your initial post to this thread and one that would recommend their services to others.

I couldn't get them to move enough on asking price when I was looking for a 911 a couple of years ago. Friendly enough though and plenty of follow up calls. Once I had bought a 911 (not from them) I decided to try them for servicing, they discounted the price slightly and it was a hassle free with a couple of nice courtesy cars also. Think I dealt with someone called Martin in service who was nice to deal with. Will use them again for future servicing even though they are not my nearest OPC.
Agree to the above.
Brought my Spyder from them. Tom was great to deal with - fussy about how the roof was put away and as a result I always feel a little guilty when I do it wrong
Went back a couple of times with none issues, me worrying over a strange noises etc. (this is what happens when you've owned a Maserati!) and Martin was very patient.
Service was hassle free and a little cheaper than expected.

Alan Dennis is my hero and a top bloke...
I got stranded on M1 - puncture/centre-locks - on a Friday evening in 2011 just south of Leicester. He stayed "open" to receive my recovered car as he understood/got that I didn't want my GT3 sitting in a recovery yard all weekend, and then insisted on driving me over Belvoir way to join my wife and kids at my parents for the weekend.
Alan had plans of his own that evening with his wife, but put me first - not a customer of his as I'd never set foot in Leicester OPC before that day (living in London) - but he was friendly and relaxed and his wife (on car phone) was equally so...she wasn't surprised or hacked off with him, so I imagine this is pretty standard stuff from Alan.
I hope he gets his own dealership...if that's what he wants. Great guy and a credit to Sytner/OPCs.

I can't see many salesmen doing that - no matter what marque they sell.I got stranded on M1 - puncture/centre-locks - on a Friday evening in 2011 just south of Leicester. I also use Leicester on a recommend, and Alan sold me my Spyder and I will be buying my next car from them.
One OPC you actually feel welcome whether spending a lot, a little or nothing at all.
Glad you got sorted OT.
I had a starting issue with my 993 and after the AA chap couldn't diagnose it I called around and asked on here and it was suggested that I call Leicester. Not thinking that they would be interested in older air cooled cars after speaking to them it was clear that they were more than happy to help and are keen to work on older air cooled cars....one of their mechanics has loads of experience working on them, and were able to offer competitive indie labour rates. The car was flat bedded to them by the AA and they found the source of the problem, a burnt out wire between the ECU and the starter sensor. They were pleasant to deal with and I think it was Martin who looked after me and kept me informed of progress as it had them foxed for a while
I subsequently got them to do the wire loom recall which of course cost me nothing! I know that there are one or two other 'jobs' that need doing but they were not at all pushy in trying to get the work.
Thinking of having them do a pre Le Mans service soon.

Another positive for Leicester from me, I also dealt with Tom and was really pleased with the experience all the way through, much better than Nottingham, I'm moving all my servicing and certainly any future business to Leicester
Cough cough any chance of a 991 loaner for the weekend
