Front window regulator is nothing to worry about.

That one is a nice spec and it looks like a nice car. Quiet a few have air con because by 1993 (the first year for the E300 diesel) it was becoming a bit more mainstream. Mine has air con and heated seats... Ironside had one a while back, also silver, it had every option except leather! even Sportline, which is pretty bonkers on the smoker.
Did you buy that 300e? !
No. Unfortunately, I'm a bit skint at the moment. I've even decided to sell my SEC because we don't use it and it consumes cash even standing still. Not that I have taken any active steps to implement the decision, of course.

That E coupe posted above was for sale for months on the MBClub forum - I will have a look later to try and find the ad but it was very keenly priced from memory.

Now that I own a Jag could anyone recommend a garage for servicing near Reading?
Have you really bought a car from THAT seller?

Isnt that the one thats on the register? Sure I have seen it talked about elsewhere.....
Yes. It is a genuine sport but is also a (undeclared by the vendor) Cat C or D, I forget which now.

As I said before - more than a bit naughty.

Traders have a statutory duty to inform buyers of anything that would be likely to affect a purchaser's buying decision.

It's not even as if it's priced to reflect the V-Car status!

I'd quite like a SWB sport on style 32's with sensible miles so at the right price and subject to an inspection I wouldn't rule it out completely.

Underhand.

There's a Cat C/D option on the Report Ad popup on AT.

What with this sort of fraud and the popularity of log book loans available to those whose ownership of such metal has ruined their credit rating, you have to HPI everything really.

Does an HPI check reveal logbook loans now?

Yes. It's [expensive] finance secured on the vehicle.

I didn't realise this smile For some reason I had it in my head that no diesels came with air con as standard.

That looks okay - but the degradation of the interior of the later w124s, the lack of Ambers, and the fact they almost always seem to be rusty makes me dislike these later models.

Drivers window is a cheap enough fix, and tyres for a w124 should never be a worry.
I do prefer the aesthetics of the earlier cars I must admit. Forgive my ignorance, but do later ones suffer from the first of Mercedes' 90's cutbacks then?

I've been impressed by them (especially the diesels) since riding in a taxi last year in Lanzarote which was just a few months short of a million kilometres. The thing still felt unbelievably solid, no rattles and glided over the road (although I imagine there is no rust to worry about in that part of the world).

If you have even the slightest desire to own a 124, you really really need to stay the hell away from the taxis on the Canary islands. Much cheaper (in the long run) to hire a car. smile

I'd bet my mortgage that it is - still seems to have the same tyres too. I'd love to know what he's looking for it as MikeyW had it for sale at £2750 at the end, so presumably Mark paid something less than that.

You're entirely right. The only 124 supplied to the UK market fitted with air con as standard was the 500 E. But by 1993, many if not most 124s were stock orders rather than customer orders. By then the market was starting to demand air con, so many of them were spec'd up with it.

Nowadays, almost all cars are stock orders and they look at you as if you're insane when you try to order one to your own spec. Which is why they're all black sport spec with privacy glass but that is another rant.

This is up for sale near me...(Odd thing about it is, it's now on a 'Y' registration plate after being brought over from Ireland)

117k, needs a set of tyres.

Gonna go take a looky tomorrow.

Just had a call from the seller.....he's got someone on their way down from Glasgow to buy it. Shame as it looked nice for the asking.
