Pavement parking is all too commonplace and boils my p*ss, especially when it forces pedestrians, parents with push chairs and wheelchair users on to the road to pass. The police around here just drive past and ignore the situation, so on a couple of occasions I've rung them when it's taken place on a main road and they've got the car moved. Maybe that makes me a bit of a saddo, but why should a lazy driver place vulnerable pedestrians at risk. Rant over....

Hold the rolley eyes, I for one could answer a most-assured yes to this.
Good to have some good observation skills, cheers biggrin. beer

I've got a cracker lined up for you, my old chap. If plod ignoring a spot of pavement parking rustles your jimmies, I've got a better one that's guaranteed to make you burst into flames in rage. I just need to bother to take a picture. It involves a roundabout about 20 metres from a Police station. And zig-zags.

This obviously doesn't include the parking of police vehicles on the zig-zags, now does it?

yikes

If it does, I'll need to stop reading this thread - my blood pressure pills are not that strong!

When I see a car parked like that, I'm always tempted to just walk over it instead of walking into the road, and at 16 stone, I reckon I could leave a couple of dents for them as a reward for their own stupidity.
If some of these people had an extra braincell, I'm sure they would rubber plants !!
My next door but one neighbour has a Mother who insists on parking completely on the pavement despite there being an ocean of room on the road AND a drive. They only moved in a few months ago so I initially said nothing hoping they would realise that their next door neighbour was elderly, blind and used a guide dog but they were seemingly ignorant or stupid. (I suspect ignorant as the Mother has lived round the corner for years before daughter moved in and the blind lady is a regular sight up and down the road)

I saw the Mother the other week and asked if she could perhaps start parking it fully on the road or on the drive as they were causing extreme difficulty for the blind lady. So far so good.

Good for you, hope it works but sadly I imagine it will be "Harumph, how dare somebody criticise me, and anyway I'm only popping in for a cup of tea, what harm can that do?"

I'm going to buy a pair of chainmail trousers and accidentally brush against cars that park on the pavement - that'll learn them!!

Padstow P&D car park.
Not helped by the Jeep parked next to it, but still a poor effort!

I've parked badly loads of times, then noticed my parking was st and parked it properly. I can't fathom people who could walk away from cars parked as badly as some on here and think it's okay. As for not finding a designated parking bay, there's always one available - you may have to wait or drive around for a while but that's hardly the end of the world.
People who park like tts are tts, it's that simple smile

It could be worse.
In fact I've seen worse when I worked at BCA - in the staff car park (no markings) and most of the cars were of fellow-drivers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i.e. the skilled drivers paid to drive and park vehicles at the auction. How some of them got or kept their jobs I'll never know.

Look at me everybody, my Range Rover (complete with badly-spaced numberplate) can go up mountains, pavements and everything.
And I'm closer to the shops than all you poor people.
Although it's not a marked space, he's not actually affecting anybody. Fair game IMO.
Of course he's affecting people! He's blocking the line of sight for traffic from the left, in front of & behind him. Plus, that's a safe area for pedestrians waiting to cross over.
Sorry, but there's little wrong with that IMHO

The Forts not the easiest place to find a space and you could've probably picked at least another 50 cars parked in a similar manner to the RR.
I've passed cars in there both driving and on foot and never had a problem with it
Maybe not, but someone who does this probably parks where they want to regardless frequently. Personally I wouldn't park there, basically because it is not a designated parking space, in my mind, they are a tossed.

Reckon we'll need to agree to disagree then.
My parking is generally very good, unless I'm at the Fort on a Saturday afternoon. I have and do park in a similar manner.

There simply is not enough spaces for the amount of vehicles that visit the site. The fact that the picture is of a RR is the cause of some of the comments "look at my Range Rover" etc, when in reality I'm pretty sure I could pic dozens of other cars that wouldn't elicit those types of comments.

If you think they're a 'tossed' then so be it..... Your parking I assume must be absolutely perfect then and I'm sure you've NEVER parked somewhere that isn't a DESIGNATED parking bay rolleyes
You may have missed my earlier comment agreeing that the Fort is a busy place, but believe me there were literally hundreds of free spaces that day, & there was absolutely no need for RR man/woman to park there. Where I parked further back, the whole row was empty, as was the row behind that. Wish I'd taken a photo from another angle to prove my case.

Even if it was busy, they're only going shopping. It's hardly a relative in hospital or running late for a graduation. shoot

Maybe the driver is a "sporg" and has to park it higher than the other cars so they can find it biggrin

Hundreds of spaces you say, then I should revert to my earlier comment of them being a tosser. Can't do the tyres much good either if that is the way they always park like that.
