Hmm, I will give it a go, but espresso has a way of looking odd on camera... (and it's pouring with rain right now!)

My car had the parking brake light come on a couple of weeks ago - phoned the OPC who had it collected and fixed it under a recall notice ( don't know if this has been mentioned earlier as I haven't read the full thread)

My car's a manual, 3 months old and I'd never received any correspondence regarding a recall - was only told about it when I contacted the OPC to discuss the warning light ! not a very good recall !!
Always loads of recalls/updates/modifications with new cars these days, the first year of a new product completes the r & d for a manufacturer. Last week my 981 went in for a coolant issue (sticky flap), and came back with 3 surprise changes - a modified engine mount, modified roof drainage hose and revised PDK gearbox settings, not bad for a car manufactured Sept 2012 with 1,500 miles.

I've had the first two done but not the PDK - it must be a pretty recent one. Do you notice any difference in the gearbox or know what's been changed?

I haven't noticed any difference to be honest and not sure what was done. (I'm useless really......)

Did anyone consider chroming the spoiler?
http://image.automobilemag.com/f/reviews/driven/12...

I am considering doing it when I get my black boxster. Also the two strips in the front air scoops.

What do you think?

I think that it looks tacky. But make the choice to please yourself, not to please others.

Good morning, SFO, the sun is finally shining, so here are some photos as requested; difficult to capture the colour exactly, but these give a reasonable idea...

The Mexico Blue Boxster finally arrived at my Dealership on 5/13, took delivery 5/14.
Ordered 1/2/13 and final Mexico Blue Config was 1/7/13 but that was also changed when 'feasibility study' ok'd painting interior trim Mexico Blue.
Dealership said before 7/1 for delivery with changes but it looks Ike Porsche kept to the original build date or close to it.

Evaluation after 500 miles and 5 days of driving.
31mpg(USA) first tank and 30 mpg second tank.

PASM, wouldn't be without it, very comfortable ride with 18" Dunlops which is what I was looking for.
PDK, brilliant engineering, I grew up with manuals, 3spd's 4 spd's, 5spd's, Tr3's, Tr4's, the Boxster 981S I test drove had the MT. This car is not much slower than an S with MT.
I love the PDK.
Sports Design Steering wheel, a must with PDK and I like not having buttons on my wheel.
18 way seats, nice but not a must have but they were ordered for the Comfort Opening where the seat moves fully rearward and wheel moves up upon removing ignition key and then opening door.
Exhaust note is fine without SE, in fact I drove a 2014 Cayman S yesterday without SE and the interior noise was much louder then the Boxster, roof up or down! Would not own a Cayman, too loud.
Sport Chrono, G Force graphic is nice, more after breakin period here in the US of 2000 miles below 4200 rpm.
CDR-31, tinny but I never listen to the radio or music in a vehicle. Burmiester would nice but the cost!
Love the fire extinguisher!
The vehicle is simply a brilliant piece of engineering and visual design.-Dick

Good point - what does Porsche recommend as a "running in" mileage / rev restriction here in the UK?

My 981 Boxster S manual says 3,000 km and does not specify revs, merely saying to avoid high revs, or something similar.

GT Silver... yeah, I'm happy with the combination - it's quite understated, but I think it will stand the test of time...

Hi Guys, newbie here but been following the thread for ages whilst trying to put a spec together. Finally managed it (below) and just wanted to thank you all for the mountains of info, photos, opinions and facts. Special double hat tip to the guy who mentioned that you can change the beam direction for LHD/RHD with PDLS.(Can't find the name/post but I haven't seen it anywhere but here) Especially important for me as I have ordered LHD (intend to spend as much time abroad as here) smokin and I didn't fancy sticking bits of plastic all over those gorgeous lights. Wasn't going to spec PDLS till I saw the post. Result.

Agonised over every option (it becomes a lot easier when you finally give in and admit you are going to spend a lot more than you thought!) and every colour combo (really like GR but was worried about fading in hot climate) so eventually went classic.

Dropped a deposit in March, July build!!! eek Apparently they only build UK LHD twice a year. Not sure I can contain myself for that long without serious injury.

By golly you've spent some money on that car! Enjoy!!

Haven't checked the manual specifically but I'm sure I recall seeing that the standard lights on Boxster S are adjustable for driving either on left or right side of road.

Bi xenon without PDLS cannot be converted for left or right hand traffic. The light distribution is homogeneous on both sides of the road, which prevents dazzling of the oncoming traffic.

I guess the manual is saying the standard lights are so crap, it doesn't matter what side of the road your on.......
