That square 3ft of floor between the incline bench and the mirror with the rack underneath is my personal space when I'm shoulder pressing heavy dumbbells.

The next time I'm doing reps and you just walk by, stop 2ft front of me and stick your puny schoolboy arse in my face while you're choosing a weight and therefore block my view I won't ask you to move quite so politely.

Must.Not.Lose.Temper.
It's not your personal gym and it's not other people's fault that the gym is set up like that.
If you read my post correctly you'll see I'm only interested /\ the bit in bold /\ whilst I'm doing reps. So for about 30 secs.

You can show me where I claimed it was my personal gym, if you like. laugh

Indeed. The guy just has to wait a minute before going in. Had similar - some guy was benching very close to the DB racks so I just waited and stared at my shoes for a minute.

Quite H, it's really only basic manners. Sometimes sadly lacking in gym newbies.

Would it not be easier to do your reps further away from the rack so as to avoid face/arse proximity issues ?

Good question. Problem is then you invite two or three chattering young fools to stand in front of you, blocking your view. So I take a position as near as possible to the mirror/rack that I can still place the weights on the floor in front without hitting the rack. And they still stand directly in front! Sometimes I wonder if people even realise why there are mirrors in a weights gym!

Both.

Its the main reason i go to a trendy lifestyle gym - lots off mirrors and lycra-clad milf. I am a massive pervert.

It's more like to see who's checking me out "yeah, I see you checking me out lifting these big heavy weights and making some serious gains!!!"

From the way you wrote it sounds like you think he has no right to stand in front of you whilst doing your set i.e. behaving like it's your gym and he should wait.

He probably doesn't give a st about you looking in the mirror and just wants to get on with his session and get out.

Just get in there and lift your weights and stop moaning.

Fair point, still think you could avoid the moan by just concentrating on lifting your weights but let's agree to disagree.

Started to use a hotel gym when away with work to run for an hour.

I really do not get people walking on the running machines while texting pretty much the whole time.

Hissers.

Yes you, the pimply, thick looking yoof this morning. You would get better results with weighted crunches. Preferably in the pool.

So you come into the gym/fitness/routine moans , to moan about someone moaning about his gripes with the gym he uses ??!! Seriously ?
