No thanks hehe
Agreed. We need someone commanding and strong in the air (which Samba is) but I think with BR's style of football we need someone who can play it out the back too.

Personally I think Toure ticks both of those boxes - he has proven in the past just how good he can be. The fact that he is on a FT balances a possibly higher wage demand. The main risk is whether he can keep fit.

It was just awful really, but something you need to watch if you remember the day like i do.
I was 15 years old stood in the kitchen of a restaurant I was working in when I found out what was going on. I was horrified and then I read all the horrible stories.

One of my teachers had his leg broken there. Thankfully through conversations with him and other people I knew at the game I like many Liverpool fans knew the truth a long long time ago.

The day those were responsible for the cover up are brought to account is the day I'll start to believe justice has been done. Truly shameful behaviour by the institutions of the state. Whilst I don't support it I fully understand why the Liverpool fans were having a party at the Reading away game after Thatcher's death.

Even though she wasn't exactly the most charitable of people I can't imagine she'd have any negative input to this catastrophe would she?

I can only assume he'll be used as cover: http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/208312....
As long as it's not a deal along the lines of Joe Cole! He was a very good player but hasn't featured much lately has he? I think my position is 'meh' but happy to be proved wrong if he delivers.
Have to agree, never really set the world on fire has he? Who else would fit the bill for a leader/ rock solid CB with time on his side? Could we prise Samba away from QPR?
Last I properly saw him was when we played City. He was a complete liability. Looked very overweight, as slow as anything I've ever seen and IMO is probably the sort of player that needs regular football to be anywhere near good enough.

As for his cost, there's bound to be a signing on fee and a weekly wage of at least 40k. This signing is a complete mistake as a 4th choice squad man. If anything I think he'll be one of our main center back signings with what we end up paying for him. Every top team has at least 3 first choice center backs to help manage injuries and suspensions as well as for tactical reasons. Unfortunately I think Toure, if signed, will be one of our 3.

Not much. Showed her saying, when she visited, that there should be a full inquiry.

I wouldn't have thought so, and she was out of office the next year, so was curious what her involvement was, particularly in light of the comment about reaction post death.

I'll never understand this kind of behaviour. Celebrating any death after what happened to our fellow supporters is sick in the extreme.

there's a banner there that claims she was involved. Every match day fan I've ever spoken to about it thinks she had involvement in the cover up. Even if it isn't true she was the face of the state at the time so maybe thats why she's associated with it.

As I said I don't support it.

A banner does not mean she was involved.

Was what was expected, we'd struggle to get higher than that and lets face it he doesn't fit into Rodger's plans so he would just be a waste of money (even more than already!).

Saw rumors about Begovic going to Liverpool. He's a good young keeper so would like that to be true. Assuming it means Reina may be on the way out though.

I read a report that Reina was committed to the club for the next three years before returning to Spain.

Unlikely to get much more I would think. Unless a bidding war starts... <cough!>

Seems we may be helping the Greek economy a little. Also talk of a move for Ilori from Sporting Lisbon. At least this is puting to bed interest in Williams.
