This seems too good to be true...

I can't help but feel that if I was selling something like a Tuscan I'm not sure I'd do it on Gumtree... Anyone on here?

There may be trouble ahead.... (but they could be desperate...)

I agree with Matthew and Don, really cheap but desperation could out. Think I would give Gumtree a wide berth. It might be worth a look if there's no ties.

I bought my Cerb from a dodgy looking add in a free paper having already researched all the ones in PH, Fernhurst etc. It turned out the seller didn't really want to sell but his wife was making sure he was seriously going to sell it so he had to advertise it somewhere. Having had the car for two and half years with very few problems i am very glad i took the risk and went and looked at it.

Watching with interest, as I do all of the 'which TVR' type threads. I think I want a 4.5 or 5.0 Chim or a re-built speed six Cerb, but the more info the better. smile

You can't take sole responsibility, but spotting yours (in one of my ideal colours) isn't helpful. hehe

We bought and sold our campervan in OZ on Gumtree. I have bought 3 cars and a motorbike on Ebay.....so its norra big deal.
Go to gumtree and put in TVR in the search box and you'll be surprised how many there are being advertised.....and of course the majority are also here/ebay/car n classics etc....

I get my Griff serviced every year by Racing Green & would recommend them 100%. If you buy from them you will have a well sorted car.

Re sourcing, I suggest you talk to James Agger. He knows his onions !

Nothing quite like dangling the carrot laugh
Blue's and metallic red's are my favourites, but after seeing mine I was smitten before I saw it in the flesh.

I've been to them, and got myself a test drive of a mk1 Tuscan and a Tamora. Looking forward to it!

Spoke to the Gumtree seller this morning, car is Cat D, no surprises really at that price, shame it's not stated in the ad though.

he was quite up front about the status, reckons it's really tidy and would have no issues with it being inspected by a specialist.

Could be worth a look for someone living closer, bit too far for me to bother.

Slide that figures. Why it wasn't mentioned in the ad I don't know either. Especially since he was clearly very open about it. A bit far from me too, for something that's a cat D. The search continues.

Spoke to Ian and Sportmotive last week. One of his customers is looking to move out of his Tuscan, a straight '03 I think .

No idea on colour, spec etc but might be worth an e-mail.

Well, having driven both a Tuscan and a Tamora, I can now confirm that I definitely want a Tuscan! It's now no longer a case of 'if' but rather 'when'.

Nice one at STR8SIX at the moment, will come with a proper warrantee as well for peace of mind.
