RichB is right. We play much better with AC in the team. He 'bullies' defenders.
Would not want to pay £17m for him tho.
I've got no problem with him as a player. In fact I'd happily have him at Spurs as I think he'd be a pretty good fit.Would not want to pay £17m for him tho.
It's the fee that people have been mentioned. He's a £10 mil player tops IMO.
Sturridge went to Liverpool for £12m don't forget.
AC's performed well (when fit) & scored goals. With a team built around him I'd expect that to continue next season. If we can secure him the value that he brings isn't overpaying.
I agree that Sturridge looks a steal at £12m but I don't know what the background to that one was. Not that long ago that man u paid £35m+ for berbatov - that's overpaying.

Sturridge was a gamble, hence the knock-down price.
I'm not a massive stats fan as I don't believe they show the whole picture but Big Sam loves a stat. And the stats showed that Jarvis was the best winger in terms of cross/pass/run completion in the Prem when we bought him, As an aside, £10m is great for him as he isn't a fashionable player so he slipped under the radar.
Carrol was never worth £35m, I just wonder how much a bath Liverpool are willing to take on him now. Luckily, with Sturridge playing well, Coutinho coming through and (as long as he stays) a goal scoring machine like Suarez all in one front line may give Bodgers the final push he needs to flog Carrol at a knock down price.

I thought the sale price had been agreeing prior to the loan?
why would anything have changed from that price? he has played well for you this season and I think he would be a good fit for WH.
I would prefer to keep him, but Brenda wouldn’t.
Maybe an option to purchase rather than an agreed fee (hence the debate). why would anything have changed from that price? he has played well for you this season and I think he would be a good fit for WH.

Does anyone know about this Rat that we've signed at left back?
If I remember rightly he joins from Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk. He's spent the last 10 years in Ukraine, winning 15 trophies & he has 88 int caps. And you've agreed a deal with Liverpool for Caroll apparently.

Saw in the paper that CC didn't respond to the clubs final offer so it looks like he's gone now?
I feel a bit sad about that really - he stuck with us when we got relegated when he could (probably) have left and stayed in the Premier League.
Me too, agree with all of that, could of gone to Stoke but took a 50% pay cut to stay with us in the Championship.Thinking about it,I'd take a 50% paycut not to go to Stoke as well.I feel a bit sad about that really - he stuck with us when we got relegated when he could (probably) have left and stayed in the Premier League.
I also loved the way when he was subbed, he'd always jog off and gee up the player coming on, contrast that with Vaz Te's histronics every time it happens to him.
Frustrating as hell as a footballer, going from looking utterly disinterested one week, to nigh on unplayable the next, but loyal and an all-round decent bloke apparently. He'd be a great buy for one of the newly promoted teams on a budget if they get him for 2-3 million.
Good luck to him wherever he goes, and he'll always get a decent reception when he comes back.
