Delivery drivers: Words can't describe how I hate you.

I get stuff delivered to work.
This did get me in bother once though when I had four tyres delivered - 2 255x18s and 2285x18s, so a bit massive. All in a big tower in our posh reception, stinking of rubber
My post room don't mind the massive deliveries i have, it's the fact i generally "forget" about them for a few days whilst i find space at home that pisses them off. This did get me in bother once though when I had four tyres delivered - 2 255x18s and 2285x18s, so a bit massive. I actually rang up a car parts company to order a new set of discs and pads for my 1 series, but just as I was about to give my card details in, i'm not sure why but I said. "Just double checking.. you don't use Yodel for your deliveries do you?" When he laughed and replied yes, I cancelled the order and bought them elsewhere!
Anyone who uses Yodel won't be getting any of my business. I don't know how they are still going!

Around Christmas time we had a Yodel card through the letterbox. Followed the link to their website, put in the tracking number etc, which just produced an error of some sort. Tried again several times over the next couple of days because we assumed it was one of the zillion things we'd ordered from Amazon to give out as presents. Anyone who uses Yodel won't be getting any of my business. I don't know how they are still going!
Anyway, I don't remember the exact way we found out, but despite a 'missed delivery' card through our door, the incompetent fecktards had delivered our parcel (for house no. 48) about 10 doors down on the opposite side of the road, to no. 23 or something! Not even an excuse of mistaking the door number for 84, the prat had randomly posted it through a completely unrelated door.
On the flip side, I've had nothing but good service from DPD - the 1-hour timeslot has always been accurate, and the option with their first message to reply and instruct them to leave with a neighbour or rearrange for another day is superb.
Our local postie is great too, and will definitely be getting a tip near Christmas. We both work shifts so there's a better than 50/50 chance we're either out, or in bed when he turns up. If we didn't have an arrangement with him we'd spend all our days off at the local sorting office collecting parcels!
DPD excellent, informed me via text throughout the delivery process. I went online and used the deliver next door please option when I realised I wouldn't be in on the estimated time of delivery and once delivered I was sent a text saying so, with a copy of the signature and name of who signed for it. First class service.
Years ago when broadband was getting rolled out, BT were using City Link for their modem deliveries. I was expecting a delivery and it didn't show up on three occasions but it was shown as delivered and signed for but not by whom at number 14.
I was looking out of the window one morning and saw the City Link van go to The Samaritans at number 13 across the road and drive off. I phoned the depot who said it was showing as correctly delivered. The manager phoned the driver while I was on the line, "explained" the situation to him and got him to come back. He claimed he wasn't aware that odd and even numbers could be on differing sides of the road.
I was pretty mad with the people over the road who had accepted three identical parcels in error and not even bothered to come across and let me know.

I had 4-8 parcels per day left at my butchers shop by different couriers the only problem was that not everyone of the people would come into my shop to get them.
I have been left with a dozen parcels at the end of a month.
Baring in mind it's not my place to deliver them to the houses as I was not a courier but the butcher.
I did tell these guys this.

The 2 times I have used DPD they have totally ignored the text I sent back, one to deliver to the neighbour and the other to change the date. Both times my text was replied to as being accepted...First time experience of DPD was not so good for me. Had ordered a new bike to be delivered to business address on Tuesday, got a text saying it would be delivered between 10.52-11.52, received a text at 12.18 saying had attempted delivery and no-one was in and that a card had been left. Ummm, no, there was 3 people in the premises all day and no-one showed up nor was a card left.
Typically there is no number to call to speak to someone human on the website, only an e-mail facility. Eventually had to go pick it up the next day from the depot myself. Clearly the driver, for whatever reason, hadn't came and decided to say he had anyway and that it was my fault for not being there.

DPD have some great communication, ordered some stuff from the UK, get both a text message & email from DPD to advise delivery will be between 15:30 and 17:30, happy days as I arranged delivery to my parents address, forward on the message to make sure someone would be there to receive the item. I get a text from a neighbour at 14;00 telling me that they signed for a package for me.
Out of the last 4 items I have bought on line I have received 1.5, concert tickets for swmbo for Beyonce never arrived and had to be collected. Dvd from play.com still no sign, iPad arrived without the second part of the order being the case and yesterday's delivery arrived.
The hit & miss would put you off shopping online....

A while back on a Friday afternoon, wife was in and looked up through window to see van stop, driver run up the path and stick something in the letterbox and then run back to van and off again!
I was on the drive with my head under the bonnet!
Yodel!
He came back with the bits I needed for the car on Monday. Tosser
