stupidest thing you have traded a car for.
Discussion
I've not ever done a car 'trade' - but I remember a mate doing so back in the '90's...
We were in a pub, and a girl we knew was also in there, who owned a Mk. 3 Cortina. It was a solid, 2 door GXi, in nice condition on the outside, but was a tempramental runner for her, hard to start, and kept stopping.
We were discussing the car in the pub with her, and she said 'look, I'm so sick of it - do you want to buy it?'
My mate said he'd buy it for a drink - to which she agreed. So, one drink over the bar paid for, and she handed him the keys there and then. He got the logbook from her the next day.
It was a good car - just needed a service. Once he'd done that, it was totally reliable too
naughty really, should have told her, but she was a naive girl who had no clue about servicing cars!
Anyway, he sold it on about 6 months later...
I bet he wished he'd kept it - that £2 car would be worth loads now!

TVR S1 for a wedding and Australian Visa- now living in the tropics, earning considerably more and several decent sports cars. Best decision ever made!!
Years ago my mate asked me to dispose of his mid 70's Fiesta 1.1, My pops was firefighter and they used the cars to cut up as practice.
I said I couldnt take it for nothing so gave him the 17p I had in my pocket. I drove it home saving me the 5 quid train fare, took the stereo out and sold it for 100 quid. I kept the plates (DEB***S) and sold for 500 quid. It was then duly cut up and disposed of, one of the firefighters keeping the engine for his project.
Took my mate out for a blinder of a night- all expenses paid. Top trading I thought
