Not two but three spaces ... Is it a TT driver trait?!

Perhaps the driver thought he was in a SWB Sprinter? Maybe he just doesn't give a toss if he blocks the road..

Where is he meant to park...

If he parks in one space and overhangs it, his photo ends up in here.

If he parks across 3 bays but not overhanging the road, his photo ends up in here.
Better to park in one bay with the back of the van overhanging the bay behind rather than block the access road as here (probably still get posted on here though tongue out)
This. Parking over 2 bays in one of these is fine with me. I'd rather that than they obstruct a road and junction.
The downside of parking accross a couple of bays is, someone will always park in front and behind you to block you in.

He has obviously parked there so he can reverse straight out as getting something that size out a normal bay with cars on either side is almost impossible as you can't get the swing.

As for blocking the road, he's only blocking one lane of a car park and not a main road so I don't see anything wrong with it either to be honest.
I certainly see your point there. Hopefully an aerial view of the car park might paint a better picture of the situation.

I've highlighted in red where van man was parked. Sure, it's not a main road or anything but it's still causing an obstruction which there's no need for. He could've easily taken up one of the many hundreds of double spaces available, no issues with that at all.

Does this count?

Some feking dimwit backed into a space toady and didnt notice they hit my car.

I guess in a way it is a good job they didn't notice as I got to takes pics of it all whilst waiting for them to come back to their car.

On the plus side they were very sorry and have agreed to sort it out.

GRRR.

Standard level of driving for Haslemere isn't that? smile hope you got it all sorted

Still disagree i'm afraid.

Have you ever parked a van that size in a public car park?

He could have parked in a double space like you say but he would still struggle to get out if cars parked on either side of him.
Where he is parked looks pretty quiet so he appears to be trying to stay out of everyone's way but still making it easy to get his van back out if the car park gets busy.

I manage it, it's not that had to park a LWB or a slightly shorter, but wider curtain-sider...

I wasn't the only one there was an X5 and a silver Kia with blu badge on display and the driver had walked off only noticed when he returned, seemed very sble for a man with a blue badge
You're not in a position to say others are parked badly, when you're sitting waiting in the drop-off bay taking pictures. Drop off points, as the title suggests is where you stop to drop off or pick up passengers. They aren't 'sit-and-wait bays'.

Taken from outside my student house today, we each have our own car - the 4 cars on the right of the picture. As you can see we park the rear cars further back which usually prevents people from blocking us in - but not today!
Sorry for pulling up an old one, but this seemed to pass without abuse.

4 temporary people in one small family house each have a car and decide to take over the whole road for their parking??

What about the other 3 houses that back onto the street... what about rear access to properties when probably student cars rarely move?

If this was the back of my house, and you 4 lived in a house and did this.. there would be some serious 'discussions'.. not just some parking to block you in to try and show you the errors of your ways.. are your neighbours elderly?

How many times did you go back and forth and did you get the tape measure out to check it was the same both sides - risking the ridicule of PH lest you be 1cm out hehe

I drive a Transit this size. He should have reversed in, the hedges tend to be quite squishy so you can get the rear end in.

Obviously choice one would be a double length space.

Some supermarkets (Tesco are the worst) do this annoying thing of putting a hedge or barrier between the rows of spaces, meaning you can't park over two, which forces me to park a bit like the pic at times.

You take pictures of your vans every time you park them?

Assuming the box van was reversed in, both worthy of a photo I reckon.

That's my Bora, parked on the end space of the row - I parked purposefully over the edge of the space, into a wide passageway, to stop any inconsiderate oik sticking a dent in my door.

Not helped by somebody that seems to have parked at NSL...

Oh, and that camper in the background takes up 4 spaces.

ETA: I thought it was worse than that, it seems not too bad, merely not straightened up...
