Looks like it sounds quite fruity as well which is a relief

Absolutely. Another potentially really lovely car completely ruined by sheer laziness at the 11th hour. The mind boggles.
The lights aren't great - agreed. However I believe done for following reasons (rather than being lazy)1) When you see behind the headlight there really isn't any room, therefore traditional bulbs are out of the question
2) Cost due to low volumes of producing a covered unit and various approvals
I suspect given the beating they are getting over the light they will reconsider for the future, hopefully at the same time a 300hp variant comes out

at last we have more of a competitor to the supercharged elise/exige, alfa should be applauded for doing this as opposed to a 50% heavier slk/z4/cayman type car. dare i say it, the more i see of them the more i find the lights acceptable ;-) hope to have a good look in the flesh at goodwood.
i was suprised at just how labour intensive the build process looks, but guess that was to be expected really, is the carbon tub for the i3/i8 to be quite so hand made? as has been mentioned, not sure how they could make money on these, even at 45/50k.

I hark back to that stunning Duetto concept which I would have loved to own.
This, however, is not pretty nor even particularly attractive. It is another "bland design" that could have come from any wannabe kit car manufacturer so it's a no from me. Where has the Alfa flair gone?
It died when the Milan development centre was closed. (100 years of passed-on knowledge and affection flushed away, imagine BMW or even Audi doing that to their bases). And for his next trick Marchionne is now having all designs being carried out in-house under an ex-pininfarina designer. This, however, is not pretty nor even particularly attractive. Which will bury said design house as it has buried Bertone. Typical present day management style : happily kill off the future of a company, market and culture to have a nice balance to show on the next shareholder meeting.
Not sure about the design of the 4c - would need to see one IRL. Those headlights are criminal for sure.
As for the Duettotanta, seems to me like that was used for the F-type. At least Mr Tata and the good people at Jaguar have some more wits about them then those lunatics at Fiat Auto Group.

So I wonder I the 4C is actually lighter than the Exige V6. I don't really have a feel for how much the fluids weigh in total but presumably less than 115kg?
I must admit, I thought the Exige V6 weighed quite a lot more than that, too.
Say 6kg coolant, 5kg oils, 30kg fuel, 1kg refrigerant, some hydraulic fluids...I must admit, I thought the Exige V6 weighed quite a lot more than that, too.
Not very much.

So why do they quote dry?

they should measure cars with all fluids except petrol, or all with 20L or so because some have tanks with say 50L and some 150L (example)
so it would be fare that all cars are measured with fluids but ex petrol or all cars the same say 10 or 20L
so no driver or luggage because al drivers are different and so is luggage why measure such thing when you don't know what driver/luggage the car gets, its a stupid thing.
they should use all around the globe also the same measurements standard.

Its not hard to get just under 400bhp per ton (which is what the rest of the field are on) when they car is so light!
